MASTA 2015 & DOCSTA 2015 students visited APSCO Headquarters on Nov 24, 2015. The delegate included 21 students from APSCO Member States sponsored by APSCO MASTA 2015 & DOCSTA 2015 program, and 12 students of Beihang Scholarship program in particular from Algeria, Bolivia, Brazil, Laos, Mozambique, and Venezuela.
Dr. Li Xinjun, Secretary-General of the APSCO, warmly welcomed the students and urged them to use the opportunities provided to them by cooperation activities already underway between APSCO and Beihang University. MASTA is a regular Master program of APSCO, which is implemented by Beihang University of China under joint scholarship scheme by APSCO, Beihang University and Government of China. It has been started since 2010. The DOCSTA is a Ph.D. program started from 2013 under same scheme. The areas of specialization for this year MASTA program are 1) Space Remote Sensing and Geo-Information System (RS&GIS), 2) Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), and 3) Micro-satellite development, and DOCSTA program concentrates on Space Technology and Applications.
During the visit, a presentation on the Role and Future of APSCO was presented by Dr. Mohammad Ebrahimi Seyedabadi, Deputy Director General of Education Training and Database Management Department of APSCO, and an orientation tour was organized to APSCO ¡°Education and Training Center¡± and other facilities. It was a valuable visit for MASTA and DOCSTA students as they got more knowledge and information about APSCO, meanwhile the students also expressed their enthusiasm on current and future activities of APSCO and provided their feedback on their programs of study.
