Technical Visit

The core of the APSCO SSS Summer Camp is about the education on space technology, especially satellite engineering. Therefore, it is very important that the participants receive hands-on training to learn knowledge, acquire experience, and develop skills on satellite engineering and the related areas. Beihang University, in its support for the SSS Summer Camp, generously provided its Sha He base and many laboratories with cutting-edge technologies for the participants to visit and receive trainings.
Furthermore, APSCO and Beihang University organized the participants to visit the China Aviation Museum, the first and largest (700,000 square meters) Chinese aviation museum open to the public. Being the largest of its kind in Asia and 5th largest in the world, the China Aviation Museum was established in 1986 and now exhibits over 270 aircrafts and 10,000 relics, including 99 national cultural relics. It is a national military-theme museum that  combines the utilities of technology, education, and tourism.
Through visiting the laboratories in the Sha He base of Beihang University and the China Aviation Museum, the participants enjoyed a fruitful day and they all made great compliments to the activity.

Epilogue¡ªThe Future for Space Education

Thanks to the lectures brought by the invited experts from countries out of APSCO Member States about operation of typical small satellite groups, developing process, working experience in ESA , and understanding to ECSS, and the courses delivered by the experts from China Aerospace engineering departments, the participants from APSCO Member States obtained more knowledge on the international development of small satellite technology, the SSS project from a practical engineering angle, the differences between engineering and theoretical courses learning, also the system configuration, specification and requirements and related typical techniques of the SSS project through the illustration of system level design and subsystem configuration. After all, the assignments with practice contribute to enhance the training effect.
As an important part in the SSS project, the summer camp has a great significance in the further development of the project. This summer camp enables the participants to develop their basic technology of small satellite thus provides a platform to the Member States which imparts space technologies between them. On the other hand, the students and faculties trained would contribute to the development of space education systems in the Member States. Besides the academic and professional courses, the cultural visit, technical visit, participants forum and other activities provide an opportunity to the participants to know more about Chinese culture which contributes to the communication and friendship among the Member States. More importantly, this summer camp helps to build a solid foundation for the future cooperation among the Member States which promotes the development of the Member States.
After three weeks of memorable experience and fruitful results, the First APSCO SSS Project Summer Camp has finally come to an end. However, the mission to promote space education and technological progress in Aerospace field is far from over. There is still a considerable amount of time it has to take to launch the  satellites; and even then, there is still a countless number of opportunities we can exploit in the vast space and more tasks to do than we can ever imagine, as many people who came before us have said, ¡°our burden is heavy and our path is long¡±.
The success of the APSCO SSS Summer Camp, however, is nothing less than a proclaim that the future of the space technology, engineering, and education is in international multilateral cooperation area. Seeing the fruitful results of the SSS Project, APSCO is now, more than ever, determined in its pursuits for its true mission; and APSCO would like to invite our friends, partners, and comrades from all over the world to join our cause. APSCO firmly believes that a best future for space technology, education, and the prosperity of human race is yet to come.
