A two-member delegation of APSCO, comprising: Dr. Manop Aorpimai, Director-General, Department of Strategic Planning and Program Management and Dr. Mohammad Ebrahimi Seyedabai, Director-General, Department of Education and Training and Data Management participated in the 55th Session of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), held at the United Nations Office at Vienna during 29th January to 9th February 2018.
As an inter-governmental Organization, having the status of Permanent Observer with the Committee, the APSCO delegation participates in all Sessions of the Committee. The APSCO delegation made a statement reporting its cooperative activities contributing towards socio-economic development in the Member States during the past year and the current networking of the on-going cooperative programs, including Data Sharing Network, Space Network, Ground Station and Infrastructure Network, Ground-Based Sensors Network, Disaster Monitoring and Rescue Network, and Space Science and Technology Education Network.
The APSCO delegation also met with other participating delegates and carried out necessary networking for promotion of APSCO programs. The delegation shared and exchanged views with experts and policy-makers from participating countries.
