APSCO delegation led by Dr. Li Xinjun, the Secretary-General of APSCO was invited to attend the “Belt and Road Aerospace Innovation Alliance (BRAIA) Working Seminar” held in Taicang, Jiangsu Province during May 23-25, 2018.
BRAIA is a nonprofit aerospace organization composed of 48 astronautical universities, institutes and academic organizations from China, America, Russia, France, Belgium Spain, Italy, Ukraine, Egypt, Algeria and other countries along the silk road. Over 50 delegates from 30 BRAIA members attended the seminar and proposed their suggestions on BRAIAs' development.
Dr. Li Xinjun made a presentation to showcase achievements of APSCO cooperative activities in last ten years and expressed that cultivation of talents is core of capacity building for APSCO Member States. Based on APSCO Student Small Satellite and curriculum project being developed as sustainable university cooperation projects, the APSCO Secretariat tries to bridge the relevant universities of its Member States and world-class universities for their cooperation to develop more high level talents.
A bilateral meeting was organized between APSCO and NPU, the Permanent Secretariat of BRAIA on the afternoon of May 24. Mr. Zhang Weihong, vice president of NPU stated that the jointly degree education programme between APSCO and NPU had been successfully carried out in 2018. Combining with the perfect teaching and practice condition in NPU, both sides put forward the idea of establish an "Aerospace Innovation Talent Training Base" in the near future to realize the connection and cooperation between APSCO Member States and renowned universities.
