The First Expert Group Meeting on Feasibility Study of Data Sharing Service Platform Phase II of APSCO was held on May 22-25, 2018 at APSCO Headquarters, Beijing, China.
All Member States namely Bangladesh, China, Iran, Mongolia, Pakistan, Peru, Thailand and Turkey actively participated in the meeting.
The opening session was addressed by Dr. Li Xinjun, Secretary-General of APSCO. He welcomed all participants and thanked for their participation in the meeting. He emphasized on the importance of the project and encouraged discussions and comments-sharing among experts of the participating Member States on Feasibility Study of the project. Mr. Xu Yansong Director of China National Space Administration (CNSA) delivered welcome speech to welcome all the experts in China. He reassured that China will make every effort for the smooth implementation of the project, including some financial support and data from more Chinese satellites. He also encouraged all Member States to contribute their satellite data to the DSSP.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Mohammad Ebrahimi Seyedabadi, Director General of the Department of Education Training and Database Management of APSCO.
“Feasibility Study Report of Data Sharing Service Platform Phase II of APSCO” was reviewed by experts, and comments and suggestions were recorded in the MoM of the meeting. The meeting recommended that APSCO secretariat to submit the final version of the Feasibility Study Report to the upcoming Administrative Heads Meeting (AHM) for further consideration as a basic activity of APSCO after collecting more comments and updates from Member States.
It was recognized by all participants that The First Expert Group Meeting on Feasibility Study of Data Sharing Service Platform Phase II of APSCO was successful, and the main objectives of the meeting had been achieved. APSCO highly appreciated the hard work, contribution, great efforts and continuous support from participants of the meeting.
