The Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO) organized the Final Review Meeting on the Ionospheric Modeling through Study of Radio Wave Propagation and Solar Activity Project during 27th- 29th November, 2018 in Chongqing, China. Experts from all APSCO Member States, Project Management Board (PMB) members, APSCO Secretariat and China Research Institute of Radiowave Propagation (CRIRP) attended the Meeting. Training and workshop were organized back-to-back with the meeting.
Concluding the meeting, the PMB members agreed that the Final Review and its relevant Deliverables were satisfied, and the implementation of the Project was considered to be completed successfully. The equipment installation have been completed in all participating Member States, including Bangladesh, Mongolia, Pakistan, Peru and Thailand. Also on-site trainings on data processing and analysis, as well as equipment operation and maintenance procedures were delivered to their technical teams. The APSCO Ionospheric Monitoring Network has also been established for further study and applications to bring mutual benefits for APSCO Member States.
In order to extend benefits to cover all member States, all participating Member States agreed to share the data with Iran and Turkey. CRIRP also presented the potential plan for cooperative activities for the continuation of the project. All experts from Member States showed their willingness to support the next phase of the project, and suggested for submission of the proposal to the 4th Expert Group Meeting on Development Plan of Space Activities and Education and Training Activities of APSCO. Finally, all participants expressed their sincere thanks and gratitude for excellent support and contributions from the project lead, CRIRP, that ably led towards the great success of this project.
