APSCO Delegation visited China Meteorological Administration

APSCO delegation led by the Secretary-General, Dr. Li Xinjun visited China Meteorological Administration (CMA) on 30th November 2018. The Vice Administrator of CMA, Mr. Shen Xiaonong and his colleagues welcomed the delegation.

During the meeting, Dr. Li Xinjun thanked CMA for its support during the activities of APSCO 10th year anniversary and personally delivered the letter of appreciation to CMA. He pointed out that the cooperation between APSCO and CMA began even before the formal establishment of APSCO and recent signing of three-party agreement along with CNSA has provided a new platform for our further cooperation. With FY-2H maneuvered to 79°E, it would be able to serve our Member States better to enhance their capabilities on weather forecast and disaster mitigation. Joint work between APSCO and CMA not only brought benefits to our Member States, but through our geographical distribution, it allowed CMA to expand its boundaries of scientific research. APSCO has taken a positive and open approach to cooperation with CMA.

Mr. Shen Xiaonong and his colleagues introduced the overall situation and achievements of CMA. Mr. Shen Xiaonong commended Dr.Li for his visions and showed good faith in our future cooperation. Both sides agreed to cooperate in trainings and data sharing as starter. Later accompanied by CMA, APSCO delegation visited CMA facilities.
