Delegation of APSCO participated in the UN/China Forum on Space Solutions: Realizing the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) in Changsha, China on 24-27 April, 2019. The Forum was successfully co-organized by UNOOSA and CNSA, and supported by APSCO. It attracted more than 300 participants from over 50 countries.
APSCO Delegation actively participated in all sessions. Particularly, Dr. Manop Aorpimai, Director-General of Strategic Planning and Program Management Department, gave a speech on behalf of APSCO and joined the panel discussion to share experiences on how APSCO as an inter-governmental organization contributes to the SDGs through the support and cooperation from all member States, Bangladesh, China, Iran, Mongolia, Pakistan, Peru, Thailand and Turkey. He deliberated the regional space cooperation enhancement programmes under APSCO platform, especially the Data Sharing Service Platform and Education and Training programmes through which existing resources of member States can be fully exploited and achievements be equally shared. He also emphasized that driven by SDGs APSCO will adhere to the plan of action listed in APSCO Development Vision 2030 and promote the leading role of APSCO in utilizing of space science technology and applications in the Asia-Pacific region. The presentation received warm welcome from the audiences and attracted delegations from many organizations to express their interests in cooperation with APSCO during the match-making session.
The team of APSCO delegation also attended the 4th Space Day of China holding in conjunction with this forum on 24 April to congratulate the great achievements China has made on space exploration and development. APSCO also expressed its sincere gratitude to CNSA for their continuous support and active cooperation with APSCO, and sincerely congratulated them on successfully organizing of this important event.
