The 1st International Symposium on Geo-hazards Perception, Cognition and Prediction (PCP) & The 4th International Workshop of China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite (CSES) Mission, co-organized by Central South University, China National Space Administration (CNSA), China Earthquake Administration (CEA) and Italian Space Agency (ASI), was held in Changsha, China during 18th-20th October, 2019.
The symposium attracted more than 100 well-known experts, scholars and industry representatives from 15 countries and regions, including China, France, Greece, Italy, Japan, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Thailand and the United States. Dr. Manop Aorpimai, Director-General of Strategic Planning and Program Management Department of APSCO, addressed an Opening Speech on the first day, he firstly thanked CEA for its invitation and introduced the basic information and progress of The APSCO Earthquake Research Project Phase II led by CEA. Besides, he expected earnestly that the 5th International Workshop of CSES co-organized by APSCO in May of 2020 in China would be successful.
10 Sessions, which contain 87 reports, were organized crossing the whole symposium duration. As an inter-governmental organization commits itself to disaster research, APSCO has a great honor to participate in this important event to outreach its cooperation activities and to exchange its international space cooperation experiences with all participants.
