The 7th China-Central Asia Cooperation Forum co-hosted by the Good-neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Committee of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (GNFCC SCO) and Chinese local government, is a state-level high-end cooperation platform for institutionalised exchanges between China and Central Asian Countries, was held in Nanning, China during 17th-19th October 2019.
The forum is intended to invite representatives of relevant departments, international organisations and experts from related research institutes and enterprises from Central Asian countries (Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan), Transcaucasia (Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan) and ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Cambodia).
APSCO delegate Dr. Ferhat Fikri ÖZEREN, Deputy Director-General, Department of Strategic Planning and Program Management, gave a presentation in the Sub-Forum Beidou Cooperation session. In his talk, he introduced APSCO and its cooperative activities. He emphasised the cooperation between APSCO and China Satellite Navigation Office (CSNO), especially on application of the Beidou navigation system. He pointed out that more cooperative projects based on the Beidou navigation system are being initiated in APSCO, which will benefit not only APSCO members but also the other countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
