The delegation of APSCO participated in the 57th Session of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee (STSC) of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), held at the United Nations Office in Vienna, Austria during 3–14 February, 2020.
As an Inter-Governmental Organization with Permanent Observer status of the COPUOS, the APSCO delegation actively participated in all sessions. The delegate of APSCO made a statement reporting its cooperative activities on exploiting space science and technology to benefit socio-economic development in its Member States during the past year.
APSCO delegate also attended a workshop about Space4SDGs as one of the panelists and presented a technical presentation about Education and Training Activities at APSCO, especially its flagship educational program, APSCO Student Small Satellite (SSS) Project. It attracted some delegations who expressed their interests for cooperation with APSCO.
The delegation also took this special opportunity to meet with its Members and other partners and discuss about on-going activities and cooperation. A bilateral meeting was organized between APSCO and UNOOSA officials on the current and future cooperation. Both sides agreed to continue and deepen their cooperation with inclusion of joint activities in their 2030 development plans.
