APSCO Provided Data Support for Earthquake in Mexico


A magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck offshore Oaxaca, Mexico, on June 23, 2020, at 11:30 a.m. ET. Seismic instruments indicate the earthquake originated at a depth of 26 km, killing at least 10 people.

As APSCO heard the terrible news on the night of 23rd June, Beijing time, APSCO initiated its emergency mechanism immediately and with the help from the Chinese Government, APSCO was able to acquire data and transmitted it to APSCO Data Sharing Services Platform (DSSP) system for Mexico to download promptly.

On behalf of the Mexican Space Agency (AEM), Ms. Rosa Ma Ramírez De Arellano y Haro expressed her gratitude to APSCO for its assistance.
