The APSCO Secretariat and the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmospheric Research Commission (SUPARCO), Pakistan, jointly conducted the Distance Training Course on "GNSS Fundamentals & Augmentation Systems" during September 14-17, 2020.
Dr. Mohammad Ebrahimi Seyedabadi, Director General of Education and Training Department of APSCO, delivered an opening speech for the training course. He sincerely appreciated the lecturers, participants, and organizers for their support and efforts, whishing the event a successful completion.
Considering the time difference and the convenience of APSCO Member States participants, two schedules were established for the development of the course (morning and evening in Beijing time). In total. fifty-six participants attended the course, from the following countries: Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, Mexico, Mongolia, Pakistan, Perú, and Turkey. The distance training course lasted 08 sessions, 12 hours, and included an examination.
Mr. Muhammad Bilal, General Manager GNSS, SUPARCO and Mr. Safder Khan, Manager GNSS, SUPARCO, from Pakistan, delivered the lectures. The following topics were covered during the training:
-Introduction on Navigation,
-Fundamentals of Satellite Navigation,
-GNSS System and Segments,
-GNSS Augmentation System,
At the end of the training, all the participants presented their gratitude to the lecturers and organizers of the training, for providing an opportunity to acquire new knowledge in the field of GNSS and interact with the colleagues from different countries, which further strengthened the capacity building of APSCO Member States.
