The 14th Meeting of APSCO Council was held in Beijing, China, during December 15-16, 2020, on virtual format. The Council Members and the Representatives of the Council Members from Member States: Bangladesh, China, Iran, Mongolia, Pakistan, Peru, Thailand and Turkey attended the Meeting.
Mr Amer Nadeem, Chairman of APSCO Council, hosted the Meeting and welcomed the distinguished Council Members, their representatives and delegates from the Member States of APSCO. Madam Yu Qi, the Secretary-General of APSCO, presented the report of the Secretary General to the Council and shared on her insight on the development of the organization in the future. The respective Director-Generals presented detailed reports and proposals of APSCO cooperative activities to the Council for review and approval.
The Council approved the Development Plan of Cooperation Activities of APSCO (2021-2030), which set up the roadmap for upcoming years. Among many projects, the Council also approved the Remote Sensing Data Policy of APSCO, proposals on membership of APSCO at International Astronautical Federation (IAF) and International Institute of Space Law (IISL), MoU between APSCO and ROSCOSMOS, cooperation with UNOOSA for workshop on National Space Legislation and application of The Inter-Islamic Network on Space Sciences & Technology (ISNET) for Observer Status at APSCO. The approval of these activities will bring new opportunities, help expansion of APSCO and its activities and benefit Member States and the region.
At the end of the meeting, a signing ceremony of the MoU between APSCO and China National Space Administration (CNSA) for the piggy-back launch of the SSS constellation was held at APSCO Headquarters and witnessed virtually by the Council Members/Representatives of the Council Members.
