The Secretariat of APSCO and the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) jointly organized the Distance Training Course on "Navigation Error Analysis Techniques", during February 01-04, 2021.
The training course was delivered by lecturers Mr. Muhammad Shahid Qureshi, and Mr. Muhammad Naeem Akhtar, on following content:
•Basics of Inertial Navigation
•Inertial Navigation Error Sources
•Methods of Navigation Error Analysis
•Navigation Error Analysis App Design
•Overview and Features of Navigation Error Analysis Tool (NEAT)
The prime objective of the courses was to determine variances of the resulting errors at the output. The training course covered various navigation error sources and their impact on the performance of Inertial Navigation System (INS). Design of a user-friendly error analysis tool and the required features were also discussed.
The lectures included 08 sessions, 12 hours, being conducted in two different schedules on live streaming, to provide equal opportunity and adequate convenience for APSCO Member States. 76 participants from 10 countries registered for the training course, showing their high interest on both content and format. Training materials such as courses record, presentation, test answer sheet and survey were sent for trainees.
The APSCO Distance Training on “Navigation Error Analysis Techniques” was successfully concluded. The organizers, lecturers and participants expressed their appreciation for having had the opportunity to attend the first distance course of 2021 and enhancing their knowledge in the configuration design of inertial navigation systems.
