APSCO delegation led by Ms. Yu Qi, the Secretary-General of APSCO, visited Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) of China during March 22-24, 2021, carrying out series of visits and meetings to promote joint cooperative activities. In order to better understand the NPU and conduct cooperation in more fields, APSCO delegation visited Micro-satellite research lab, the NPU museum, Institute of Culture and Heritage, and Engineering Simulation and Aerospace Computing joint laboratory during the three days visit.
The meeting was organized on March 24 in the International Conference Center of NPU. Dr. Zhang Weihong, the Vice President of NPU, received APSCO delegation. Representatives from International Cooperation Department, School of Astronautics, School of Materials, Institute of Cultural Heritage, Beijing Research Institute and other relevant departments attended the discussion.
On behalf of NPU, Dr. Zhang Weihong congratulated Ms. Yu Qi for her appointment and expressed warm welcome to APSCO delegation. He thanked APSCO for the long-term support and cooperatin with for NPU. He expected to further consolidate the cooperative relationship between the two sides on the basis of the existing cooperation, and to explore deeper cooperation in more fields.
Ms. Yu Qi emphasized that NPU is a reliable and platinum partner of APSCO. She mentioned she has deeply felt the pragmatic and progressive working style carried by the " NPU Spirit " since assuming her new post. She expressed her sincere desire to deepen and expand cooperation with NPU.
The two sides had in-depth discussion and exchanged ideas on talent training, exploration researches and scientific cooperation. Both sides agreed to continue to promote talent training and competition under the cooperation framework of "APSCO-NPU Development Base for Aerospace Talent". Both sides showed mutual interest on developing new method of conducting training, two-degree education program, competition in the new field of space technology application, etc. Both sides reached a consensus to collaborate closely to strengthen the capacity building of APSCO Member States and the “Belt and Road” Aerospace Innovation Alliance (BRAIA) Members in the use of space-related technologies for economic, social and cultural development, to enhance the youth's innovative spirit,
