APSCO delegation led by Ms. Yu Qi, the Secretary-General of APSCO, participated in the 2021 Space Day of China and attended China Space Conference from 23-25 April 2021 in Nanjing, China.
The delegation attended the Opening Ceremony of the China Aerospace Congress on 24 April, 2021, to celebrate the 6th Space Day of China. The delegation also attended the International Lunar Research Station Cooperative Mission (ILRS), which was a side event of Scientific and Technical Subcommittee (STSC) of United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UN-COPUOS), organized by China National Space Administration (CNSA) virtually. A joint declaration on “Cooperation in the Creation of the International Lunar Research Station (ILRS)” was adopted by CNSA and the State Space Corporation of Russia (ROSCOSMOS), during the event.
The Secretary-General of APSCO, Ms. Yu Qi delivered a presentation on APSCO Small Student Satellite Projects and shared her views and insights during the International Seminar on University Student Satellite on 23 April 2021. She also presented “Role and Practice of APSCO in the Global Outer Space Governance”, during the International Seminar on the Rule of Law in Outer Space on 25 April, 2021.
To support the host country China in commemorating the Space Day of China, APSCO jointly hosted reception with CNSA in the evening of Space Day, on 24 April. The reception was attended by high level participants of the conference, including diplomates from embassies, officials from space authorities of China, local government, and industries. The reception was hosted by Ms. Yu Qi and welcome remarks were made by Mr. Xu Hongliang, the Secretary-General of CNSA.
