The Secretariat of APSCO and the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) jointly organized the Distance Training Course on “Space Environment Effects Analysis for GEO Communication Satellite”, during 26-29 April, 2021.
The training course was delivered by lecturer Ms. Ayesha Javed, working as the Deputy Chief Manager at SUPARCO, on following contents:
•Space Environment & GEO Sync Orbit
•Radiation Impacts, Magnetic Impacts, Debris and Vacuum Issues
•Issues and Resolution
•Analyses and Software Tools
•Hands-on Problem Solution
The training course was focused on building an understanding from basic to intermediate level about what and how a spacecraft is expected to behave in Geo-stationary orbit. The objective of the training was to let the participants assess the environment correctly for which they are designing and developing their spacecraft systems.
The training included 08 sessions, based on 12 hours of lectures. It was conducted in two different schedules on live streaming to provide equal opportunity and convenience for all APSCO Member States. In total, around 88 participants from 09 countries participated in the training course. Training material such as courses record, presentation, test answer sheet and survey were shared with all trainees.
APSCO Distance Training on “Space Environment Effects Analysis for GEO Communication Satellite” was successfully accomplished, with great contribution and cooperation from lecturer, participants, and organizers. At the end of the training, participants conveyed their gratitude and appreciation for a highly informative and well-designed training.
