The Secretariat of APSCO and the Iranian Space Agency (ISA) jointly organized the Distance Training Course on "Micro-Satellite’s Statistical Design", during 23-26 August, 2021.
The training course was delivered by lecturer Dr. Mehran Mirshams, head of Space Research Lab, on following contents:
- General Concepts in Space Engineering
- System Engineering Overview
- Micro-Satellite’s Statistical Models
- Statistical Design Algorithm
The course was focused on systems engineering, which is the systematic application of proven standards, procedures, and elements to the satellite’s design. Statistical Design Method (SDM) helps space engineers to consider off-the-shelf satellite technologies through new design. After completing the courses, participants acquired knowledge on how to determine Micro-Satellite mass and power budgets and its basic operational and technical specifications at the first steps of design process.
The training included 08 sessions, with 12 hours of lectures. To provide equal opportunity and better experience of learning, the training was conducted in two schedules on live streaming for all APSCO Member States. In total, 76 participants from 08 countries showed interest and registered for the courses. Various training materials including presentation, recording, survey, quiz and answer were shared with all trainees.
APSCO Distance Training on “Micro-Satellite’s Statistical Design” was successfully accomplished, with all great efforts and support from the lecturer, participants, and organizers. Participants expressed their appreciation and fondness for having the opportunity to access this informative training.
