
At the Opening Ceremony on July 21, Mr. Nimit, the advisor to the Minister of MICT delivered the Inaugural Address. On behalf of the local organizer, he welcomed all delegations meeting in Thailand. Thereafter, Dr. Zhang Wei, the Secretary-General of the Secretariat of APSCO give a welcome speech, and he wish the symposium a great success. During the second half, Mr. Lin Sen, Mr. Niklas Hedman and Mr. Jin Klim Lee gave welcome addresses respectively on behalf of MIIT of China, UNOOSA and UNESCAP. The ceremony is concluded with group picture shooting, all delegates gathered together.
During the following 3 days, participants talked over on 3 topics. In the afternoon of July 21, delegates from each country made introduction on their own space activities, status, and developments. On July 22, the discussion was focused on satellite earth observation technology and applications. In the morning of July 23, Academy reports were made on Satellite communication technology and applications.
In the afternoon of July 23, MICT arranged all guest visited the satellite ground station located in the suburbs of Pattaya. Mr. Chanchai Peanvijarnpong, the Depyty Director of GISTDA, made a introduction about this station. Where after, Engineer Mr. Phuriwaj Ruengnaowaraj told the information about the THOES Satellite, which is a project cooperated by MICT and APSCO.
